HOW MUCH BASIC COURTESY DO SINGAPOREANS HAVE?
Well, basically one person cant make a representives of all Singaporeans... But today one incident i witness that realli set mi tinking... Who right who wrong u be the judge... (Maybe i will be abit bias in term of description)
It started of wit the train to the Marina Bay reach Jurong east station... As usually many people scambled to their own preferred seats like mices... That include mi... But luckily, i find the "always best" seat which is the seat wit the glass panel beside so that i can slp witout accidentally put my head over other shoulders... After i sit down, i look at the right side to look as other mices running to their preferred holes...
I saw tis malay gal whom is studying in poly i guess comin in n standin at the pole there... Behind her is a Chinese lady in her early 50 runnning to find empty seats... As the malay gal is blocking her way, she tried to open a way for herself by pushing the malay girl to one side... But the girl didn't move at all, so the lady tempted to push again... this repeat abt 3 times b4 the lady manage to get through n reach her empty seat "on time"... At the same point of time, the malay gal get pissed off, ask her in a harsh tone y the lady keep pushin her... the lady replied that it is the malay gal fault as she doesnt wan to move when she push her... Addin on, she said the teen dun understand the elderly that they need to rush to their seats cause their legs will feel pain... This end up in a quarrel in the MRT...
Who is right who is wrong? I would choose to side the malay gal... The lady in first hand have to no right to push the malay gal... Is a "excuse mi" so hard to say? Since u can speak a fluet eng... Then no one teach u hw to say excuse mi? Then when ppl ask u y u keep pushin her is a sorri to difficult to say? Come on ! Where ur basic courtesy... Live for 50 years in the world, no one teach u?
The elderly should be given priority to sit down when in MRT... But does that mean you can push others n even argue that u r in the right position? I dun tink so... Yes, it is right we should help the elderly whenever we can... But the elderly oso mus nt abuse tis priority... It jus leave a bad impression to mi...
